A wending, winding country road takes the traveler to places of peace and beauty.
There is great adventure out in the country, although it doesn’t look like what the entertainment industry, with its repertoire of explosions and car crashes, defines as adventure. Adventure in the country involves walking and driving along these narrow, little used roads, which head straight into the heart of rural beauty, silence, and tranquility.
One of the hallmarks of country roads is that they’re generally not straight. Winding their way through and around landmarks – hills, rivers, fences, trees, ditches – country roads take things slowly, which isn’t such a bad thing, because in our society, we take very few things slowly.
But when we do take things slowly, we breathe more deeply, think more deeply, and allow our eyes to wander around and observe the landscape around us. Especially if we are walking, we are more likely to stumble upon a small animal – a rabbit, a m...
About Steve Henderson
I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color. A commercial illustrator for more than 20 years, I have been painting for most of my life, and in the last 18 years have focused exclusively on fine art. I celebrate images that invite the viewer to step into the artwork and experience a sense of joy, peace, freedom, encouragement, meditation, and thought. There's a lot of angry art out there, as well as a lot of shallow pop. I choose to use the abilities and experience I have to promote beauty and goodness.
