Description
Sunset casts its glow of vibrant colors over the majestic walls of the Grand Canyon, geologic jewel of Arizona.
The Grand Canyon is its own painting, its own canvas that changes – almost magically – from moment to moment as the sun travels overhead and casts its light on the rock and cliff faces. The rugged texture of the cliffs catches the light and plays with it, so that from one moment to the next, the colors of the canyon change.
Evening Colors, the watercolor painting, invites the viewer to step into this magical, changing landscape and be there for a stopped moment in time. As the sun sets and twilight advances, the colors emerge: coral, gold, rust, red in the cliffs in the foreground, and – as the cliffs recede into the atmosphere of the distance, blue, lavender, purple, coffee.
A few seconds later, the colors have again subtly changed, and the viewer – without stepping away from where he or she is standing – sees a totally transformed landscape within the space of minutes. It’s like a movie – but much, much better than a movie, because it’s real.
Step into the world of Evening Colors and be a part of the stillness, the silence, the glow of sunlight. There is a sense of peace and tranquility within the setting of timelessness, and without the hustle and the hurry of the accoutrements of modern life – the traffic, the phones, the beeping of endless electronic devices – one is able to reflect upon the beauty of nature and be at peace.
