Artist's Description
Many times, when we take a walk, we’re heading somewhere. Even if it is a walk for pleasure or exercise, we often set a goal: “I’m heading to the third major bend, where the large rock is. Then I’ll turn around.”
But when we take a walk on the beach, we generally forego these destination goals:
“I’m taking a walk. Along the beach. Next to the surf – better yet, I’ll take off my shoes and splash in the surf.”
The plan is to walk and walk – fast or slow, shod or barefoot – along the beach with the ocean to one side. And while there is still a level of exercise involved, the best thing about walking on the beach is just that: walking on the beach.
There are treasures buried in the sand, probably not gold and jewels, but definitely bits of shell, gleaming rocks (which don’t gleam as much when they’re dry), ribbons of kelp. Seagulls hop just far enough ahead to maintain a stately distance. Out in the waves, a seal bobs its head. And al...
About Steve Henderson

I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color. A commercial illustrator for more than 20 years, I have been painting for most of my life, and in the last 18 years have focused exclusively on fine art. I celebrate images that invite the viewer to step into the artwork and experience a sense of joy, peace, freedom, encouragement, meditation, and thought. There's a lot of angry art out there, as well as a lot of shallow pop. I choose to use the abilities and experience I have to promote beauty and goodness.
