Far from the crowds, out on a sailboat together, a couple in love creates a song of beautiful romance.

As the afternoon wanes into twilight, the lights in the distant city glow with a warm golden hue, and the tranquil water upon which the couple sails reflects the painterly image of the clouds above. The couple is not going any particular place, and there is no hurry to get there because they are exactly where they want to be right now: together, alone, with only the gentle strumming of the guitar and the soft splash of waves against the boat.

On the edge, wine glasses await a toast to their love and relationship, but these too can wait because the time is timeless, and the moment is one that they will live and relive together through a lifetime.

Serenade, the artwork, invites the viewer to step onto this boat as one of the people in it – to be the woman with the guitar, gently singing, or the man at the rudder, listening with delight. Into this intimate moment...

I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color. A commercial illustrator for more than 20 years, I have been painting for most of my life, and in the last 18 years have focused exclusively on fine art. I celebrate images that invite the viewer to step into the artwork and experience a sense of joy, peace, freedom, encouragement, meditation, and thought. There's a lot of angry art out there, as well as a lot of shallow pop. I choose to use the abilities and experience I have to promote beauty and goodness.
