Artist's Description
Stolen Kiss – it sounds like a movie, and indeed, in many movies, there is the moment when the hero and heroine indulge in that moment of a stolen kiss.
The artwork, Stolen Kiss, takes the moment out of the movie and places it into a world of the fantastic yet believable. The time is timeless, although the bicycle and the woman’s dress bring to mind a sense of vintage nostalgia, all the better because it transcends time.
The location is some mysterious alleyway in Europe, next to a restaurant from which, we wonder, the woman has just run as she sees the man standing outside. The moment is fleeting – the Stolen Kiss – and we as the viewer feel as if we have stumbled upon the scene without meaning to. We were just walking along, thinking our thoughts in the rain, and we came upon the couple.
They don’t know we’re here. We don’t want to move, because then they might notice. For us, as viewers, it is a mysterious moment as well, one to absorb quietly and...

I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color. A commercial illustrator for more than 20 years, I have been painting for most of my life, and in the last 18 years have focused exclusively on fine art. I celebrate images that invite the viewer to step into the artwork and experience a sense of joy, peace, freedom, encouragement, meditation, and thought. There's a lot of angry art out there, as well as a lot of shallow pop. I choose to use the abilities and experience I have to promote beauty and goodness.
