They’re not a splashy, showy flower, daffodils.
Rather, they’re understated, often tucked away among the foliage and quietly emerging in the early spring. In shades of cream, white, and yellow, they don’t shout at the passerby, but rather, wait for him and her to finish passing by, stop, turn around, and say,

The artwork, Two Daffodils, celebrates the quiet, persistent intensity of the daffodil. Reposing in a simple glass vase (actually, it’s a glass bottle that used to hold cream), the duo of flowers looks out in their new world, the interior of a home. Perhaps a child picked them, which would account for their short stems since children, for some reason, often discount the importance of stems. I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color. A commercial illustrator for more than 20 years, I have been painting for most of my life, and in the last 18 years have focused exclusively on fine art. I celebrate images that invite the viewer to step into the artwork and experience a sense of joy, peace, freedom, encouragement, meditation, and thought. There's a lot of angry art out there, as well as a lot of shallow pop. I choose to use the abilities and experience I have to promote beauty and goodness.
