How often do we spend slow, gentle time of simply being quiet – time that allows us to think, to wonder, to look deep inside ourselves and see what is there?

Introspection, the artwork, invites the viewer to step into an extremely quiet time and place. A young woman, clad in a towel, lies on her stomach before a gently moving stream.
“She must be in a fairly private place,” we tell ourselves, “to be so scantily clad.”
And indeed it is so. This woman is alone, delightfully so (why are we so very, very afraid of the word, “alone”?) Where she is, specifically, is unclear – the story behind this to be filled in by the viewer. It looks like she could be resting on a rock, in fron...
I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color. A commercial illustrator for more than 20 years, I have been painting for most of my life, and in the last 13 years have focused exclusively on fine art. I celebrate images that invite the viewer to step into the artwork and experience a sense of joy, peace, freedom, encouragement, meditation, and thought. There's a lot of angry art out there, as well as a lot of shallow pop. I choose to use the abilities and experience I have to promote beauty and goodness.
