Palouse Falls, an incredible roaring, majestic outpouring of water over cliffs, is Washington State’s official waterfall. But it didn’t need official state sanction to be what it is: a unique, beautiful, astounding display of nature’s power.
Spring at Palouse Falls, the artwork, takes the viewer to this geological wonder at one of its most impressive times – early spring, when the winter snow melt is swelling the rivers and springs, resulting in a cascading wall of water that is monolithic in scope.
The unique thing about Spring at Palouse Falls is that the original oil painting is actually a miniature small work. At only 6 x 6, the original oil painting nonetheless captures an enormous space, a landscape of kingly proportions. The landscape pushes against its framed edges and demands to be accorded its full respect.
The viewer of the painting stands at a point just below the falls, between the red rock canyon that is something we would expect to find...
I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color. A commercial illustrator for more than 20 years, I have been painting for most of my life, and in the last 13 years have focused exclusively on fine art. I celebrate images that invite the viewer to step into the artwork and experience a sense of joy, peace, freedom, encouragement, meditation, and thought. There's a lot of angry art out there, as well as a lot of shallow pop. I choose to use the abilities and experience I have to promote beauty and goodness.
