Artist's Description
Some days, you just want to get away.
Far away. Out of sight and sound of modernity. In a place of silence where you aren’t even tempted to pull out your phone and see what else is going wrong with the world, because the landscape is so remote that it doesn’t get cell phone service.
Off the Grid.
Here, in this wild and remote countryside, the remnants of a road winds its way up and down the hills, passing by copses of trees and meadows golden with late summer grass. The sky overhead is blue with just the right amount of white clouds. And the gentle breeze keeps both tree branches and clouds moving, its sound barely a whisper in the silence.
Nobody’s here, just you.
Your cell phone gets no reception, so the drone of a podcast or harangue of an actor reading the latest disaster from the teleprompter cannot possibly reach you. And while you could put your phone away anytime at home, make a commitment to not let it control your life, sometimes the t...
About Steve Henderson
I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color. A commercial illustrator for more than 20 years, I have been painting for most of my life, and in the last 13 years have focused exclusively on fine art. I celebrate images that invite the viewer to step into the artwork and experience a sense of joy, peace, freedom, encouragement, meditation, and thought. There's a lot of angry art out there, as well as a lot of shallow pop. I choose to use the abilities and experience I have to promote beauty and goodness.
