Life is as simple as a hairpin, and as complex as our deepest spiritual thoughts.
In the black and white charcoal painting, The Hairpin, a young woman sits in her boudoir, running her hands gently through her hair as she thinks, and reflects, and wonders.

There is something about the human touch that is powerful and strong, whether that touch comes from our own hands gently running through our hair, or whether we rub the head of a baby that we’re holding in our lap – the human touch is a vital element to life, and like most vital elements, we don’t see it as such, because we are trained to put value only on things we can buy – like cars, or diamonds, or an evening in a posh hotel.

I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color. A commercial illustrator for more than 20 years, I have been painting for most of my life, and in the last 13 years have focused exclusively on fine art. I celebrate images that invite the viewer to step into the artwork and experience a sense of joy, peace, freedom, encouragement, meditation, and thought. There's a lot of angry art out there, as well as a lot of shallow pop. I choose to use the abilities and experience I have to promote beauty and goodness.
